A review of a game is very subjective... but as are most things.
SO3's graphics weren't super cool.
I liked the story. I don't care if the story didn't "match" the title.
The gameplay could've used some work. When you go to new places, you find exactly where to go. It wasn't like your everyday RPG where you'll get lost and have to find your way. BUT, some people like a challenge, and some like just an easy calm game to play through. I'm both.
The battle system was alright. It was fun to control my character in battle and KNOW when I'm going to hit or miss. I could evade enemy attacks on my own. The only thing that would've been really nice is they could've put in more skill points to use more than two fucking skills.
15 Capacity points.
3 of the best attacks - Air Raid, Dimension Door, and Ethereal Blast.
The only way to battle correctly, is to use the cancel bonus when using skills in SO3. Such as... Side Kick on the X button.(short distance) Then after Side Kick, quickly hold O for another Side Kick set to O.(short distance) Or even Shotgun Blast.
But those two attacks you get early in the game, and us heavy RPG'ers like to get new skills to use, yo.
Now, Side Kick is 2 CP, Shotgun Blast is 3 or 4, I don't remember correctly... but your max CP (capacity points) is more than enough to use these skills.
Now to the best 3.
Air Raid - 6 CP
Dimension Door - 7 CP
Ethereal Blast - 8 CP
You can cancel bonus Air raid, but that's 12 CP taken up. And there's not enough room to use a far distance skill, like Dimension Door.

But, you can switch some stuff around. Keep Dimension Door as a far away HEAVY attack, and then have Side Kicks for both light and heavy close attacks. -shrug-
Same thing for Ethereal Blast. You can't use any of the other skills really well when you put this in a slot. Granded, the damn attack strike 15 times with both HP and MP massive damage, but the attack is also slow and easily knockoutable. :\
But, I was just fine using cancel Sided Kicks throughout the entire game. It was fun, and I would randomly change up my skill pattern depending on the area, and if I'm fighting a boss.
It was a fun game, it's just not for everyone. xD
