Evanescence and Linkin park and other musical groups such as so. I hate how their songs are often about relationships gone wrong-and how it's the end of the world and a justification for complete depression and even suicide. In my opinion music like that is responsible for the establishment of the Emo trend, which I also hate. People think Goths are bad, but at least, in most cases, we KNOW they're bullshitting.

Normal everyday and very human problems are not a reason for utter and complete misery, and although that's subjective for everyone and everyone has the right to their own perceptions and actions thereof, it still pisses me off. Music of all kinds and sorts under any form is fine, stupid or intelligent, it has its place; but it's just that when people take it too seriously it GETS wrong, especially when bands or whatever are using that influence to promote their success. There must be something I don't comprehend. And in this case, it works, as love and relationships often hurt people. We won't see anyone mimicking Cannibal Corpse because of its sheer obscurity and shock value concept when it comes to subject matter, will we?
But in my opinion, love and relationships are PART of life and growing up; it's not about quitting and giving up.

If someone makes a melodramatic song about how they were raped by their dad at five years old, lived in the streets and are dying of AIDS and are selling their body to feed their deformed baby with no father, then I'll pay my respects.

But I completely despise and will disregard the plunging into despair and despond because of normal human relations which are about wisdom, knowledge and learning about life itself, and certainly not a reason to use depression as a flag for trend or to see it as an absolute terminal point in social progression.
I can't say people are wrong to do it, but...

And that ''but'' gets me to Emo's. Using suicidal tendencies and depression as a fucking trend for a lifestyle IS wrong, because they get all the attention, which would be better spent on the guy with unkempt hair and dirty clothes who always sits alone in a corner, unnoticed or walks down the street with his head bowed. There are people with real problems out there, and that in and of itself seems almost a tabooed subject-people have a hard time dealing with real depression, weather because they suffer from it themselves or because they don't know how to deal with a loved one who has this problem, and are afraid or confused.

Bad enough that we get the mainstream to glorify this behavior as a trendy fucking pretence, which does not help to alienate and make the genuinely depressed folks being pushed away and ignored-even more then they already are.

Stupid superficial society.

I can't say that most Emo's do it simply for the shock value-some of them might cut themselves or pretend BECAUSE they have a problem, and are crying out for guidance, help or whatever. Most of them are teenagers, and in most cases, at that age, many things are shrouded in confusion and mystery, so it IS understandable. It's often hard to say what's on your heart in mere words. But fuck, those who apparently know better should like, hum, know better? Can't anyone see that a person who is happy pretending to want to kill themselves contradicts the entire comprehension OF depression? I suppose it doesn't really hurt anyone, however, because we paid attention to the guy who winces every time he slices himself, we may never know why his classmate killed himself.

But about love and relationships and the way that they're transformed into the depths of the abyss, I don't know what it feels like so I'll shut up-but it's still a rant, I certainly am not and will not ask anyone to confirm its supposed or ''might be'' legitimacy.
