1) Must have at least 100 posts before requesting an apartment.

2) Must stay active.

3) Must not JUST post in your apartment. The other sections of Game Wire need attention too.

4) Must try to keep your apartment active. Don't just request one, post for a few days, then forget about it.

5) Your apartment must not host illegal files (warez, cracks, etc.). Nor can you post porn/nudity.

6) Try not to request a board that would easily fit into the main boards or that would potentially take away from discussions on the main board. Request something more ...unique.

7) You may only have one blog. However, if you have a blog, you may go with another friend to have a blog between yourselves even if that friend has a blog already.

I think that's it for now, so we'll see how this goes. If for some reason the main boards start to get less active because of this, the idea will be scrapped. I'm sorry, but I'm giving this a chance and I think that's fair enough. If anything, due to some of the responses in the "Bring back apartments/blogs?" thread, I expect for the main boards to get MORE active. So please don't let me down.

Here's a question. When you say the apartment must stay active, exactly how often is considered active?

Nah. YOU must stay active. You must TRY to keep your apartment active, and what I mean by that is try. It's understandable if no one wants to post in it, but I don't want anyone to request one then just forget about it.

If they're going to do that, I'd rather them request for it to be deleted.

The thing is, i'd like an apartment. But, during busy times with my job or whatever...I may only be able to post in it a couple times a week. Would you consider a post or 2 a week as "active"

Well, if for personal reasons you won't be able to be as active; that'd be understandable.

I just hate it when I find out that someone with responsibilities to this site happen to go missing, and I find out that they're at another forum playing around. That really ticks me off.

I post at like 5 other forums, but I still post a good bit every day here. In fact, on average...I probably am posting here more than anywhere.

Nah. I mean in general. If you're honestly going to be not as active due to work or something, then I expect not to find out that you're at other forums if you have responsibilities here (IE: You're a mod or something).

Changed rule #1 because at 100 posts, it's easy for anyone to get an apartment; and I don't want tons of different apartments. Just a handful is good for now, and I think 250 is a good enough number. It shows that you've been active, and it also lets you work towards getting an apartment.[/STRIKE]

Ok, we are now changing it back to 100 as we feel it is a nice number to go with. It is not that hard to reach, yet having 100 posts (Member Status) shows us that you are dedicated.

By the end of the month, we'll be raising the minimum for a blog back to 100...maybe even back to 250. So, if anyone's been planning on making a blog... request one now, or you'll have to wait until you have more posts again. ALSO, all blogs will be reviewed at the end of August as well. All blogs that we deem inactive will be archived or deleted. Also, all blog moderators may lose their forum for other reasons...such as becoming inactive on the main forums. I will only say this once also.
